Below is an overview of who needs a study visa, what documents are required, and country – specific rules for some of our main student markets.

Do I Need a Study Visa to Study English in South Africa?

This depends on:

  • Your nationality, and
  • The length of your course

Short Courses (up to 90 days)

Many nationalities may study English on a visitor’s visa if:

  • The course is 90 days or less, and
  • The visa allows study, supported by an official letter from Aurora Language Centre

Longer Courses (more than 90 days)

If your course is longer than 30 days, you must apply for Study Visa (Study Permit) before arriving in South Africa, regardless of nationality.
